Ladies of the Jardin du Luxembourg
In 1847, Louis Philippe ordered twenty statues of the illustrious women in French history. The Jardin du Luxembourg created by Marie de Medicis was the perfect place to add the French girl power. Surrounding the upper terrace of the garden we will take a walk amongst these lovely ladies and learn a little bit more about each one. From Saint Genevieve to Mary Queen of Scots and Marie de Medicis, each hold a story including one that wasn't even a real person
